Tiptree
I’m sure everyone on earth has seen this already, but the Other Melissa’s Art Forum arrived today with its hitchiking Book Forum which has a really fantastic review of JAMES TIPTREE, JR.: THE DOUBLE LIFE OF ALICE B. SHELDON BY JULIE PHILLIPS. (sorry for the caps, but I’m too lazy to do more than cut and paste). Fantastic in the way that it makes me want to buy not only the biography, but everything by Tiptree I can get my hands on. I’ve only read what I’ve tripped across so far (when I was a teenager), but this review makes me think actively about reading her work. Yes, I’m prejudiced against classic SF. But…wow!
Also, Kelly and Karen Joy Fowler get name-dropped.
